About Me.
Hi, I’m Claire – a Child and Family Health Nurse with a passion for
providing families with the tools necessary to navigate the minefield
which is parenting! In my 15 year nursing career, I have worked
extensively across northern and central Australia, and being from a
farming family myself, I am all too aware of the challenges that living
outside the city can present.
As the eldest of four growing up on a sheep and cattle property in south west Victoria, I clearly remember my mum balancing her role as a mum and a wife, while working full-time on our property. It wasn’t until I had babies of my own, did I fully understand how difficult this must have been for her!
Little Joey Beyond Birth Support was born with the sole purpose of making families in regional and remote Australia feel less isolated and more in charge of their parenting journey.
From the comfort of your own home, I provide families the same access to child and family health care services, support, expertise, parenting programs and education that metropolitan families receive.

Qualifications
Graduate Certificate in Primary Health Care - Child and Family Health Nursing
(Flinders University)
Graduate Certificate in Remote Health Practice
(Flinders University/Centre for Remote Health)
Bachelor of Nursing
(Deakin University)
A child and family health nurse (CHN) is a registered nurse who has a postgraduate university qualification in child and family nursing. I provide health and developmental checks for infants and young children, promote responsive parenting, and support child and parental emotional wellbeing. I also provide support, guidance and information on: infants/child's emotional, physical growth and development, breastfeeding, infant/child feeding, and support your parent journey.
OCN Level 6 Holistic Sleep Coach
(Holistic Sleep Coaching Program by Lyndsey Hookway and BABYEM)
I have trained to use a gentle, family-centred approach to infant and child sleep, while considering the larger picture - including age and development, health and barriers to sleep, sleep biology, your childs' temperament, attachment, relationships and more.
Accredited in Neuroprotective Developmental Care
(The Possums Programs by Possums & Co. and Dr Pamela Douglas)
NDC is an evidence-based approach to early life care that uniquely acknowledges the interrelatedness of infant feeding, sleep, baby's sensory-motor and social needs, cry-fuss behaviours, and parental mood.
Circle of Security Parent Facilitator (COSP)
(Circle of Security International)
At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The COSP program provides support in how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.
